New Flash
In August, we will have been open for an entire year. This past year has been such a roller coaster and I have a feeling the next 12 months will be no different. We have some exciting things in the works that I will start to announce over the next several days, including a discussion about our current talent and future pro fighters, plans for the gym remodel and expansion, our new summer schedule that will begin June 1st, fundraising plans for both the gym and our students, huge upcoming fights, how to order new t-shirts next week and the plans for our youth Jiu Jitsu and boxing summer camp! I fell off the blogging wagon and now I'm back on it and I'm ready to share all of our exciting happenings with the world wide web!!
Tonight, I'll start with a little information about the Summer camp plans. We will host a three week summer camp for kids ages 5-12. We will meet Monday-Thursday 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., the kids will be provided with a snack daily and a t-shirt and water bottle to commemorate the 2013 summer camp. The camp is limited to 20 kids per week long session. Each week is $150 or $400 for all three weeks. There is a non-refundable $100 deposit to sign up for the camp. If more than 20 sign up, we will start a waiting list and once the waiting list reaches 12 kids, we will hold a second session and those on the waiting list will be the first ones invited to for the second session. Session 1: June 10th-28th. If there is a 2nd session, it will meet July 8th-26th. Please contact Carly for more information about the camps (carlybuddemeyer@gmail.com).

Part of Something Special
You know you're a part of something great and positive when you can speak about it without batting an eye. When daily, I am reminded by someone how special they feel at our gym, how we are a family. I hear this daily. It should become our slogan....our mantra. I'm not a salesman, I want people to know about our gym, about our programs and I want people to want to be a part of it.
I had a call today from a mom of a potential youth student. She was concerned about him getting lost in the crowd. He had tried out another big name gym and had felt "lost in the crowd" and like he wasn't part of the team. His confidence is lacking and she was inquiring about our programs and our coaches. The amazing thing is that I was able to tell her without batting an eye about all of these things. I was also able to express to her how our gym treats each other, like family. There is a genuine care and concern about each other. Our fighters treat each other with respect. Our fighters treat students and fighters from other gyms with respect, win or lose. Humility, pride, loyalty are a few words that come to mind when I think about our gym family. When you walk in the door you are greeted by either myself (Carly) or Steve or one of the instructors. This is not a money factory, we will not badger you into signing a contract, you come in, try out a few classes, join if you like it.
We are rearranging our cardio program in order to best suit the students and their schedules. Please check our facebook page (here) for up-to-date daily schedules and reminders! We also brought back fighter fit conditioning! Everyone is welcome to join and fighters are strongly encouraged to attend.

Fit or Fight Gear
I know a lot of people have been anxious to get some gear with our logo on it. It's first come, first served, so to make it easier and fair (since some of you can't always make it to the gym every day), I have created a spot online where you can buy the gear in the size you want. When I run out of a size or an item, I will remove it online. Your item will be at the gym seven days after you purchase it. If you don't live near us, I can ship for $4 per item. Sizes larger than XXL will be an additional $2 each. If you need shipping or larger sizes, please contact me. We will be adding more variety as it warms up as well.

Schedule Changes
Here's our new schedule. The only that has moved so far is the kid's classes. Monday's will now be GI for the kids. They need to have a Judo or Jiu Jitsu Gi in the next two weeks.
Stay tuned for an exciting announcement regarding our stand-up program and changes to the MMA schedule.

Exciting News!!!!!
We are going to be adding a new class to the schedule for the next month
or so to demo. It's BodyCombat, another class by Les Mills. Below is a
detailed description. You can click here
to watch a short video of the class. I highly recommend coming to this
class. If we have a good class size and feedback, we will permanently
add it to the schedule....so come and take the class...its kind of like
TaeBo on steroids.

totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by
martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as
karate, boxing, tae kwondo, tai chi and muay thai. Supported by

punch, kick and kata your way through calories to superior cardio
fitness.

You'll begin by learning all the moves that will be used throughout the class, and warming up your body and mind for the battle ahead. The focus is on speed, power and endurance. There will be time to recover as you prepare for the each phase, with a final fight for your life that will seal the deal on your fitness objectives.- Improves heart and lung function and reduces the risk of heart disease
